Cian Vyas is a research fellow in the field of tissue engineering, biomaterials, and additive manufacturing. He has a PhD in Regenerative Medicine from the University of Manchester, a MSc in Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine from the University College London (UCL), and BSc in Nanotechnology from the University of Leeds. Currently he is a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Manchester, UK. He has published over 30 research articles, reviews, book chapters, and conference papers. His research interests are in the development and characterisation of advanced biomaterials for use in additive manufacturing, tissue engineering, and functional composites. This includes developing novel silk based composites for bone regeneration, antimicrobial electrospun nanofibres, and characterising microstructure crystal formation in 3D printed polymers. His role in the Textile Circularity Centre will be in supporting the use of bacterial cellulose in additive manufacturing and fibre spinning processes.
